Physically Challenged Co-opted Into Edo Traffic Control Unit

BENIN CITY - Five physicallychallenged persons passionate about traffic control in Benin City have been co-opted into the Traffic Control Unit of the Edo State Traffic Management Agency.

They are Osagie Henry, Akhere Ekelekhomen, Henry Aigbokhai, Ibrahim Shaibu, and Osazuwa Osaze.

The State Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Victor Enoghama said the decision to co-opt the five physically challenged persons followed many months of observation of their voluntary performance as traffic control officers.

He noted they have been enthusiastically doing the traffic control job at strategic road junctions and Igbesanmwan/Igun Road junction in Benin City without any remuneration, adding that such patriotic action was worthy of recognition.

Responding, one of the physically challenged, Mr. Osaige Henry expressed gratitude to the state government for recognizing their noble effort.

The five physically challenged persons are always seen at Wire/Eviemwen Road Junction and Igbesanmwan/Igun road junction in Benin City helping to either decongest or control traffic.
