BENIN CITY – Edo State Government has issued a Certificate of Occupancy for the land to build a university by Loyola Jesuit Order at Ewatto Community in Esan South East Local Government Area.
Making the presentation at the Government House in Benin City, Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole said the Certificate of Occupancy for the land is part of the state development agenda to encourage even development in all parts of the state.
“We have waived all fees to enable the Jesuit Order start the project and the money that would have been spent on the C of O should be diverted to other projects. This will no doubt increase the economic activity in the rural communities”, he noted.
According to the governor who advised that work should commence immediately, the establishment of a University at Ewatto Community is an incentive for other investors to focus on the rural areas.
The leader of the delegation, His Royal Highness, M.S.O. Ikhumhen JP who commended the state Governor for the success recorded so far on infrastructural development, said they have come to thank him, in appreciation of the development going on across the state.
The traditional ruler described the Governor as a great patriot who has committed his life to the all round development of Edo State.
“You have demonstrated your love for education with the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy to Loyola Jesuit for a parcel of land measuring two hundred hectares for the establishment of a university”, he added.
While pledging the unflinching support of Ewatto people to Comrade Oshiomhole’s administration, the royal father noted that Ewatto people are totally behind the Governor.
