BENIN CITY- The Labour party Edo State Chapter has disassociated itself from the purported adoption of Mr. Solomon Edebiri by the Coalition of Political Parties as their consensus candidate for the July 14, 2012 governorship election in the state
Addressing party supporters at the Labour Party Secretariat in Benin City yesterday, the state Chairman of the party, Pastor Sam Omede declared that the National Secretariat of the party was unaware of the illegal adoption of Mr. Solomon Edebiri.
He maintained that no candidate had been adopted by the Labour Party in Edo State for the governorship election.
He disclosed that there were plans to hold what he called “mother of all political rally” by the end of March, 2012.
The rally, according to the LP chairman, will be aimed at re-energising the party structures across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.
Hon. Omede acknowledged the monumental infrastructural development of Edo State anchored by Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and reiterated the Labour Party’s full support for the comrade governor.
The LP chairman who contended that the decade of rule by the People’s Democratic Party in Edo State was a monumental disaster, warned that the people will slam them with their voted this time around.
He commended the party leaders from across the three senatorial districts of the state for their commitment and steadfastness in ensuring that the Labour Party is deeply rooted at the grassroots, and further charged them to brace up for the election ahead
