2nd term: Etsako Club 81 endorses Oshiomhole

BENIN CITY- A leading socio-cultural group in Edo State, Etsako Club 81, has joined other groups in the State to endorse Comrade Adams Oshiomhole for a second term come July this year.

Speaking through its President, Mr. Samuel Ilugbekhai during a courtesy call on Governor Adams Oshiomhole in Benin City, yesterday, the group lauded the developmental strides of the governor in the state.

According to him, “we are in tandem with dispassionate and objective observers in the forefront of suggesting and mobilising the entire Edo State for your second term bid. As we hold high the banner of your re-election, we shall strive far afield to sensitise all and sundry on this noble course.”

Engineer Ilugbekhai said “we note with pride your giant strides in the provision of infrastructural development in the three senatorial districts, construction of roads, transportation, electricity, water, medicare, employment generation, modernisation of primary and post-primary educational institutions that now stand the state out as a reference point in the entire nation.

Your development scorecard is loaded with work done that is visible, verifiable and enduring”.

The Group’s president acknowledged the unflinching support given to the governor by the people across the state, adding, “now that you have more than justified the confidence by your exemplary performance, we have every reason to believe that the support of the good people of the state will be sustained”.

Responding, Comrade Oshiomhole noted that the achievements so far attained would not have been possible without the support of the people across the three senatorial districts.

He noted “we have tried the best we can to demonstrate that good governance is possible and that Edo State can work and is working again.”

The governor acknowledged that there is still much to be done, adding that government is committed to sustaining the pace of development.

“I also believe that we need to do a lot more in Benin City.

The challenge of erosion control, problem of flooding, the problem of urban renewal are there to be fully solved. We have the challenge to restore Benin to its pride of place, and this we will do”, Oshiomhole added.
