Gov Poll: Don’t subvert people’s wish, EVF warns

BENIN CITY- Edo Volunteer Force, EVF, a political campaign organization committed to continuity of the developmental strides, and re- election of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole as Governor of Edo State has warned against any attempt to subvert the people’s wish in the July 14 Governorship election. The group which rose from an enlarged meeting of its members drawn from across the state, held in Benin yesterday, said the primary objective of the volunteer force was total commitment to the mobilization of the entire voting population in Edo State to guarantee a resounding victory for Comrade Adams Oshiomhole at the July 14 polls. According to the Edo Volunteer Force which voted with satisfaction, the ineffable performance of the Comrade governor, specifically drew attention to the poignant contrast between the governor’s approach to development and the PDP governors who ruled the state many years before him. The group implored all Edo people to vote overwhelmingly to re- elect the Comrade Governor, come July 14, stressing that the body would create all necessary synergy for all the interest groups and associations, which make up the body, for the purpose of actualizing the objective. It therefore warned that the EVF would “resist vehemently, any attempt to subvert the wish of the people at the election, enjoining its members to be vigilant”. The EVF explained that the resources required for the prosecution of the project of re-electing the governor would be harnessed from within the group, which they said would form their own contributions towards moving Edo State to the next level. The leadership of the EVF disclosed that the group would soon embark on a tour of the local government areas to ascertain the state of preparedness and level of mobilization so far achieved by the membership across the state. Meanwhile, the Igbo community represented at the meeting has pledged to commit resources and energy to the re- election of the Comrade governor, who they claimed, has provided them with the enabling environment to do business. Over one hundred cars, buses and other campaign materials were volunteered by members of the EVF for the governor’s campaign.
