EWATTO - The Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole was among dignitaries that joined the Onogie of Ewatto, HRH Zaiki Sylvanus Ikhumen last Saturday when the royal father gave out his daughter in marriage.
The Onogie’s daughter, former Princess Sylva Iziegbe Ikhumen was joined to her husband, Mr. Shola Airaogie Iremiren in holy matrimony at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Ewatto in Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State.
The marriage which attracted crème-dela-crème of the society, had in attendance, royal fathers of Uromi, HRH Anslem Edenogie ll JP, Ewu, HRH Rasaq Ojiefoh, Ewohimi, HRH Peter Usifoh ll, Oria, HRH V.
Oguamelu ll, Ekpoma, HRH Anthony Abumere ll, representative of Oba of Benin, permanent secretary, Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Martin Uhuobhoibhi, former speaker of Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Hon. Zakawanu Garuba, present EDHA deputy speaker, Hon. Festus Ebea and other important personalities.
Speaking at the marriage occasion, Governor Adams Oshiomhole prayed God to bless the marriage with good children that would become leaders of the country.
He remarked that the calibre and number of personalities that graced the marriage ceremony were pointers to the fact that the couple had good will of the people.
He advised the couple to be prayerful and avoid things that would negatively affect their marriage.
The Comrade Governor congratulated the bride’s father, the Onogie of Ewatto, HRH Ikhumen and members of his royal family for the successful marriage ceremony.
In a homily that preceded the joining of the couple in holy matrimony, the officiating priest, Rev. Fr. Fracis Akhue told the couple that Christian marriage was a sacred union which enriches natural love and create bond that endures for life.
