In a swift reaction to the recent in-house rift at recording
firm, Mohits between performing artist, Kokomaster Dbanj and iconic
producer Don Jazzy which took the Nigerian entertainment industry by
surprise, the former Mohits boss has now taken the bull by the horn and
launched a new record label, Mavin Records.
In an usually unprecedented yet stunning move by the legendary producer,
he wasted no time with an official press release in releasing the
(official) faces of the 'New Mohits Boys' or the new name for his new
record label, rather he took to the world's official gossip house
(Twitter) to unveil his new team.
As if he's not done yet with
his surprising and highly unexpected stunt, the Mohits boss threw
another wand on fans by unveiling an although arguably new face in the
industry but much recognised, loved, respected and talented female
artist in the midst of the boys; the much celebrated Tiwa Savage.
Exclusive: Don Jazzy responds to D'banj - 'I wish you well son'
But as expected, former Mohit boys, Dr Sid, Wande Coal and brother
D'Prince all made it to the new team list. However the non-inclusion of
K-Switch (incidental brother to 'rebel' leader D'Banj) has left a tirade
of questions, opinions and often hilarious taunts and jibes been thrown
at the upcoming singer on social networks as to where his future lies
in the music industry.
A compilation album featuring the new record label members is set to
drop May 8, 2012, neither Don Jazzy nor any of his representatives were
available for comment at the time of filing this report.
Fans will however be waiting and seeing how former partner Kokomaster D'banj will respond to this new development.
